This, is war.
On my way home from work today, I saw something in the right lane of the highway, so I switched lanes and then saw it was a raccoon. So I switched back to that lane, stopped my car, put my hazard lights on and called animal control. He was hit but still alive, and I learned my lesson about helping wild animals who have been hit when I ran over a snake a few years ago (please ask me to see this scar). Also bear in mind that this was on the 408, a major toll highway with a 65 mph speed limit. So the animal control lady said that they weren’t going to do anything, because he was going to die anyway. I was additionally getting honked at and stuff, so I gave up and left. I feel terrible though, the poor guy. Just trying to cross the road.
